It is so understandable to want to help your friends or loved ones going through infertility. And while it may seem well intentioned, the unsolicited advice or opinions are actually not helpful. Instead, just showing up for them, making sure they know you’re there, doing small acts of kindness for them - those things can go a long way.

What is your favorite way a friend or loved one has supported you throughout your journey?

One year ago, the Alabama Supreme Court ruled that frozen embryos are considered "children" under state law, disrupting IVF services across the state. Clinics temporarily paused services, and many feared for their future family building options. Local advocates sprung into action, and RESOLVE was on the ground to help.

RESOLVE hosted the Family Building Advocacy Summit on January 29-30, bringing together national patient-focused organizations committed to expanding access to family building options and addressing infertility-related challenges. The event sparked meaningful discussions and valuable connections among advocacy leaders, leaving us inspired and energized.

We look forward to continued collaboration in the fight to ensure access to care for all.

This event is made possible by a grant from the @ASRM_org

The first chapter of RESOLVE was founded in Minnesota. They have organized around patient education and advocacy since the 1980s. This the 4th legislative session that advocates have fought for increased access to thorough insurance coverage. This is their time.

“I wanted to share this poem again as so many people have said they’ve found it helpful, whether that is in reflecting their experience in the past or the present.

Even though I am in a different position now than I was when I wrote this I want to keep sharing and performing this poem as that journey stays with you forever, and I want to keep honouring the stories of the friends and others who have felt seen by this.

One thing that helped me massively was by opening up about my own experience, realising I wasn’t alone in feeling all of these things, even when it changes from day to day, so if you have people in your life who you feel like you can share with, or if you can be those people for each other it really does make all the difference in the world.

Sending so much love this week (and all weeks!) to anyone on their own fertility journey, whatever point you may be on it.”

HB 1477 protects infertility services (hearing at 10:00am)

HB 1282 provides infertility insurance coverage (hearing at 11:00am)

HB 1284 provides fertility preservation insurance coverage (hearing at 2:30pm)

We need as many people as possible to submit written testimony AND to email their lawmakers to support these pro-family bills.
